Select to create the appropriate type of data source. The "Create New Data Source" wizard will display. Once the 32-bit ODBC Database Administrator is open, use the Add button to add a new DSN. This can be found on Windows 7 by searching for it, as shown in the image below:

If you are running Windows 7 圆4, or another 64 bit operating system, make sure to use the 32 bit database driver administrator. Step 1: Open the 32-Bit Database AdministratorĪs of version 4.6 of The Report Viewer, you must use 32 bit database drivers. The first step is to create an ODBC driver that connects to the XLS database. When creating a report that uses an Excel workbook as a database, add it to the report as an ODBC connection. And, if the report viewer cannot find the path at that location on the report user's computer, it will not be able to refresh the reports data. The path to the database file may be valid and accurate on the report author's computer, but it may not be the correct path on the report users computer. When creating a report that uses an Excel spreadsheet as a database, report authors will often use the option in SAP Crystal Reports to Create New Connection using Access/Excel (DAO). But, each datasource setup is a bit different. We can get it to work with any datasource that Crystal Reports supports. You are always welcome to contact us to help setup.
This creates a problem for reports that use data sources reference by a file path. For the user to be able to refresh the reports, the database connections need to exist in the location refreshed by the report.

Download Java JRE, if you have installed 32-bit Salesforce ODBC driver, download JRE 32 bit for Windows else download 64-bit JRE and install it.The purpose of The Report Viewer is to allow end users to refresh database connections. When you click on Test Connect, if you see the below Error message:ĭetails: "ODBC: ERROR Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 193: (DataDirect 7.1 Salesforce, C:\Program Files (x86)\Progress\DataDirect\Connect_for_ODBC_71\Drivers\ivsfrc27.dll)." Click on Test Connect, and you should now see an authentication window, fill in your Salesforce Username and Password and click on OK. Back in ODBC Administrator data source configuration, Go to Security Tab and fill in the Security Token. If your Organization needs Security Token for accessing Salesforce, then get the security Token by following these instructions. Some Organizations require Security Token, while some don’t. Name the data source as you like as shown above. Click on Add and Choose DataDirect x.x Salesforce, you should now see a window like below. If you have installed 32-bit DataDirect Salesforce driver then you need to open 32-bit ODBC Administrator else open 64-bit ODBC Administrator One for 32-bit and another for 64-bit ODBC drivers. Note that there will be two ODBC Administrators in Windows. Open ODBC Administrator to configure the Salesforce driver. Stick to default options in installer and you should be done in a minute or two.

Extract the setup.exe from the zip file and run it to install the driver. If your Excel version is 32-bit, then download the Windows 32-bit version else if your Excel version is 64-bit, then download Windows 64-bit version of DataDirect Salesforce ODBC Driver.
